Bold Attempt to End All Street Art Forever

"Don't Paint Again" scrawled on switch box in Echo Park. I'm not sure how effective this will be. I took this out the dirty window of an LA Metro bus.

Sand One Lashes Out

Sand One lashes out behind Echo Park tattoo shop, El Clasico. As a former make-up artist, I love the way she makes her lashes. I often give my characters 3-5 lashes that are quick upstrokes, but Sand One gets down on those lashes like a MAC make-up artist. And look at those lucious lips! Love her.

I also saw this mini blue graphic piece on a electrical box. I ran into the shop owner while taking this shop, he was a super nice guy and spoke very highly of Sand One. Check out El Clasico when you're in Echo Park and get some fresh ink.

Hollywood Famous on streets of Silver Lake

I often run into celebrities in my neighborhood of Sunset Junction. I ran into this beautiful poster this morning when I went to photograph Koffinz new piece next to it. Sophia Coppola on the streets of Silver Lake. Her photo, the pale pink against the ble sky, the palm tree and the Santa Monica Blvd street sign combine to make this an LA moment for me.

Carmageddon Imagined

Carmageddon was all hype, but what would LA look like without any cars. Check out director Ross Ching's time lapse video of Los Angeles without any cars. It's quite a beautiful site. Good LA is hosting a project imagining LA streets without cars. You can submit and image and enter hereAll the submissions will be projected in the gallery at the A+D Museum on Thursday, August 11 during the Moving Beyond Cars party, which will challenge all attendees to get to the event without using a car. One winner will be announced at the event, who will receive a subscription to GOOD, a GOOD t-shirt, and a GreenAid seedbomb kit, among other prizes.

Take Note

I've seen these little notes with ramblings about migration, Saab, Norway, mystery religion and new surf wave music (whatever that might be) on them taped around the hood lately.

Seraph & Yem at Work

I had the pleasure of running into Seraph and Yem at work on another mural in the Le Barcito parking lot in Silver Lake. Seraph is an incredible soul that shines through his intricate work that emerges from an organic world and provides insights to futuristic infastructures. Yem is working on some of his characters - one an aggressive cat creature and the other a peaceful gaia-like figure of a woman who has a killer blue buddag ear. I'll be posting pics when the wall is complete.

A Bad Idea

I love this poster. The quote is simply printed on corrugated plastic and strapped to a lamp post. It reads:

HOW A GOOD IDEA STARTS: "THAT LOOKS FUN... I SHOULD DO THAT."

Menacing Piece up at Le Barcito

I love this purple people eater that just went up on Sunset in front of Le Barcito. I love that the monster has a little flower is his hair. Butcher staked out the spot a couple weeks back, but I didn't see his tag on this yet. It reads "PLAYME".

WIN Homo Riot Sticker Pack

The Homo Riot wagon was out today at Akbar's Bars in Space beer bust party in Silver Lake today. The truck is pretty pimp. It's custom patined by Homo Riot. It has a black backgroun with grey stencils of one dude giving another dude a blow job. The stencil is repeated as a background pattern with some words scrawled over it. There's a graphic black and white image over the with a bearded-bear-daddy with Kiss make-up tugging at his undies. Red blood drips below that over another sweet black and white pattern with the words "Homo Riot" stenciled repeatedly.

I scored some sweet gear courtesy of The Site Unscene. I got a tee, a brand new silkscreen vinyl sticker, some black and white stickers and signed photo of one of his street postings. I love this shirt that says "not gay as in happy, but queer as in fuck you".

WIN A STICKER PACK
1. Follow my Facebook page
2. mention Silver Lake Street Art in post or share our page with your friends.

We'll pick two winners to send a Homo Riot sticker pack to! Good luck.
