Street Art Colombia

I had to change my focus from the everyday blogging of LA Street Art. While I was in Colombia, I captured images in the form of murals, stencils, stickers, tags and other forms of graffiti. The streets and walls of Bogotá, Cartagena, Medellín, Baranquilla and even remote towns have become the canvas for many street artists including: Toxicómano, DJLU, Lik Mi, Rodez, Malegria, Jim Pluk, APC, Mefisto, Colectivo Sopa y Seco, Ledania, Pez, Leonardo Gaitan, Stinkfish, Saint Cat and many more street artists.

5"x8" Softcover - 138 Full Color Pages - Over 200 Photos of Street Art

Tank taking his wall back

I ran into Tank painting a mural in Silver Lake off of Sunset. He was part of the crew that painted the cat mural. It got tagged and subsequently painted over by THEFL. He was painting a new piece and said that he's taking his wall back. I'll update with new pictures soon.

Septerhed gives Sunset Junction a Fresh Coat

Today Septerhed gave Sunset Junction a much needed fresh coat. At the corner where Shepard Fairey's "Heart & Soul" had taken a beating since summer, Septerhed brought some new life to the corner with some vibrant blue and orange hues overlayed with his black line work. The finished mural reads "I never hated anyone as much as I love you!!!".

Enjoy the video of Septerhed's freshly completed mural below.

Sand One Lashes Out

Sand One lashes out behind Echo Park tattoo shop, El Clasico. As a former make-up artist, I love the way she makes her lashes. I often give my characters 3-5 lashes that are quick upstrokes, but Sand One gets down on those lashes like a MAC make-up artist. And look at those lucious lips! Love her.

I also saw this mini blue graphic piece on a electrical box. I ran into the shop owner while taking this shop, he was a super nice guy and spoke very highly of Sand One. Check out El Clasico when you're in Echo Park and get some fresh ink.

Seraph & Yem at Work

I had the pleasure of running into Seraph and Yem at work on another mural in the Le Barcito parking lot in Silver Lake. Seraph is an incredible soul that shines through his intricate work that emerges from an organic world and provides insights to futuristic infastructures. Yem is working on some of his characters - one an aggressive cat creature and the other a peaceful gaia-like figure of a woman who has a killer blue buddag ear. I'll be posting pics when the wall is complete.

Menacing Piece up at Le Barcito

I love this purple people eater that just went up on Sunset in front of Le Barcito. I love that the monster has a little flower is his hair. Butcher staked out the spot a couple weeks back, but I didn't see his tag on this yet. It reads "PLAYME".
